Deputy Catering Manager

Kingsbridge Healthcare Group are currently seeking to fill the role of Deputy Catering Manager within the Catering Department. The successful candidate will be based at Kingsbridge Private Hospital but may be required to travel to other Company locations as and when required.

Accountable to General Manager

Job Summary

The main function of this role is to assist the Catering Manager in running the kitchen at Kingsbridge Private Hospital and to deputize for the Catering Manager when necessary.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Helping to plan menus.
  2. Preparing food for the appropriate food services which include breakfast, break and lunch for staff and patients.
  3. Checking stock levels and placing orders with suppliers.
  4. Checking deliveries and ensuring that stock is appropriately stored.
  5. Sourcing suppliers and ensuring that best value is obtained.
  6. Ensuring that all necessary Health & Safety checks are maintained on a daily basis and appropriate records kept.
  7. Making sure that the canteen is clean and that the necessary standards are consistently maintained.
  8. Helping, and preparing food for other events/meetings when necessary.
  9. Leading, managing and motivating cantering staff and ensuring that all staff are appropriately trained.
  10. Liaising with staff, patients and suppliers.

Qualifications

Desirable

  • Food Hygiene Certificate

Experience

Essential

  • 2 years’ experience within a busy catering environment. 

Desirable

  • Experience in a high end or fine dining restaurant

Special Knowledge and Skills

Desirable

  • Good communication & interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with both patients & colleagues at all levels of seniority & liaise effectively with other internal departments.
  • Numeracy and literacy skills
